A stainless steel machine designed to remove foreign matter from batches of produce such as peas and corn kernels, by the use of high-velocity air flow. Effectively, the batch of product passes through a vertical duct via a sloped, perforated grill plate. An axial fan blows air up the duct and through the perforated grill plate. Any foreign material lighter than the weight of the product is blown further up the duct and into a collection cage. The product carries on through the duct to an outlet chute, free from foreign material. The air flow is adjusted so as not to blow the product off the grill plate. The machine is designed to suit any application and can be adapted to fit to in-feed conveyors or shakers.
